Spare key for Honda Accord
If you have a working key for your Honda Accord and you just need a spare one we recommend you shop around for prices between a Honda dealership and a locksmith company. The difference between a dealership and a locksmith company, besides the price, is the type of the service you will get. Most locksmiths, for your convenience, will be able to drive to you, whereas you will have to get your car to the dealership yourself. If you are able to drive your car to the dealership and you just want to make a spare key, we have found many times that this is cheaper than having a locksmith do it.
The Honda Accord has five different types of keys depending on which year your car was made. These different types of keys are:
- Regular metal key
- Transponder key
- Transponder high security key
- Remote key with push buttons
- Smart key
If you have lost your Honda key, and you want to just make a new one, the better deal is probably going to be with a locksmith. A locksmith will drive to where your car is with all the tools needed to cut and program a new key right there on spot.
Honda Accord key will not turn
There can be a couple of different reasons why the key in your Honda Accord will not turn. Either the key is worn out or the wafers in the ignition are stuck. If the key is worn out, do not try to just make a key copy. This will not fix the problem. You will need to call us to make you a brand-new key for your Honda Accord. If the wafers are stuck in the ignition, you will need to have the ignition re-keyed.
