Mile High Locksmith has been selling and programming Nissan Intelligent keys for many years and would like to share some tips that can save you money and time when you need a new Intelligent key replacement.
Where can you buy a Nissan Intelligent key?
The best place to buy a quality Nissan Intelligent key will be at a Nissan dealership.
If you want to save some money you can buy used Nissan Intelligent keys, also known as aftermarket keys, for a lower price at salvage car key companies or at online stores such as: Ikeyless, Keylessride, Amazon or Ebay. If you do buy a key with one of these companies, make sure to ask for a warranty just in case the key is damaged or won’t program to your car.
Do Nissan/Infiniti Intelligent keys cost more?
Yes. As of today, 03/2017, 2017 Nissan Maxima Intelligent keys cost around $180.00. That is just for the key blank itself without any programing or other services. A regular transponder key for a 2006 Nissan Maxima costs about $50.00. That is also just for the key blank itself. If you go to a dealership or use locksmith services, other fees such as a service call fee and/or programing fees will apply.
Note: These prices are only average prices that have been reported to us. They are only used as examples to provide you with an idea of the cost. If you want to get a more accurate cost, we suggest you call your neighborhood locksmith or dealership and ask them for a total cost for the key and service.
How to program a Nissan/Infiniti key fob/Intelligent key?
Nissan/Infiniti does not make these keys available to program to the public without using the right professional programing tools. Today, you may be able to find other companies online that will sell these keys to the public with the programing machines included.
We urge you to use a locksmith company or a Nissan dealership first. Both a locksmith company and a dealership will use the most advanced tools and you should receive a warranty for the programing and the keys.
Both a locksmith company and a dealership will be able to sell and program a key for you even when you have no key at all. It may cost more but is the safest way to go for your car, and in many cases will save you time.
