How to make a transponder chip key if you have a spare key, if you do not have a spare key, and tips that can save you time and money. There are two different ways you can have a new key made yourself.

The first way will be if you only need to make a key copy. If you have a working key to your SUV, you can buy a transponder chip key blank online or at a locksmith store. If you chose to buy the key online, some of the places we recommend you try are ebay.com, amazon.com, ikeyless.com, and keylessride.com. These key blanks should cost anywhere from $20 to $50. If you buy the key online, a good place we recommend you to have the key copied is at Ace Hardware. After you get the key copied, you will need to program it to your Saturn. You can read more information on how to program the key yourself below.
The second way to have a new key made will be if you have lost your key and have no spare to copy from. If you have lost the key and have no spare, you will still be able to program the key yourself. You can read in the above paragraph about the places we recommend to buy the key blank from. After you get your new key, you will still need to get your key cut either by a locksmith company or a GM dealership.
Tip: What is great about the Saturn Outlook is that you can program the keys yourself. We always recommend to our customers that they have a key copy saved in their home somewhere. This key doesn’t even need to be a transponder chip key. It can be just a regular metal key. The reason it is a good idea to keep this key copy in your home is so that if you lose your key or your transponder chip key breaks, you always have the option to buy a key blank in a few places. Then you can have the spare key copied to a new transponder key.
How to program the Saturn Outlook key yourself?

Program a new transponder chip key to your Saturn Outlook:

After you have your new transponder chip key cut, bring it to your SUV.
Insert your new working key into your ignition switch and turn it to the ON position. Look on the dashboard and see if all the lights such as the gas light, battery light, etc. are lit up. Look for the security theft light to be on. Leave the key in the ON position for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, the theft light should turn off.
Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the key.
Insert the key back in again and turn it to the ON position. Leave in for 10 more minutes until the theft light goes off.
Repeat this process 1 more time, making it a total of 3 times.
The third time the theft light goes off, your new key has been programmed.
Note: To program a second key, then in less than 20 seconds insert your second new key and repeat the same process with the theft light one more time. Now your second key is also programmed.
Program a key copy to your Saturn Outlook: (must have two working keys to be able to program a duplicate key).

Insert your old key to the ignition and turn it to the ON position. When the theft light goes off turn OFF the ignition and remove the key.

If your key is already stuck or the key is just becoming harder and harder to turn, the first thing we will recommend you do, is stop using this key. Jeep Commander key replacement

Jeep Commander key replacement

If your Jeep Commander key has broke, or you have just lost the key and have no spare, there are only two places you can have a new key made.

The first one will be at a Jeep dealership and the second will be a locksmith company. The differences between the two is the type of service and the price.
The different services between the the Jeep dealership and the locksmith will be that the Jeep dealership will ask you to bring the Jeep in, whereas the locksmith will be able to come right to you, wherever you are, and make you a new working key at your Jeep’s location.
The cost of making a key between a dealership and a locksmith will always be different. We always recommend to our customers that they shop around between the Jeep dealerships and different locksmith companies.

Jeep Commander key fob
Most Jeep Commanders have a key fob. A key fob is basically a key with push buttons on the key head. The key fob will have buttons to unlock and lock the doors as well as the trunk, and will have a red panic button. Between the years 2005 and 2009 you do not have to have the key fob to start your Jeep. In these years, you can have just a regular transponder chip key which will cost less. If your Jeep Commander was made in the year 2010, you will most likely need to have a Smart key fob.

If you want to duplicate your Jeep key, have lost your key and have no spare, or your key has stopped turning your ignition, we can help. Mile High Lock and Key would like to share some information about common problems you may have with your Jeep Commander, as well as how to make a key copy or replacement key.

Does my Jeep Commander key have a chip?
If your Jeep Commander was made in the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 then your Jeep has a transponder chip key.

Jeep Commander key wont turn
There are a couple of reasons why your key will stop turning your ignition switch or door locks. The most common reason is because your key has just worn out. In this case, the best fix is to have a new key made either by a locksmith or a Jeep dealership. They will use either your Jeep Commander’s VIN number or the Jeep’s key code.
The second most common reason why your key won’t turn is because one of the parts in the ignition or door has gotten stuck. The best way to fix this problem is to have a locksmith rekey your lock.

Spare key for Jeep Commander
What is great about the Jeep Commander is that you can duplicate the key yourself. Before you can duplicate a key however, Jeep is asking that you have two working keys for security reasons. Even though most people only use one key to drive their Jeep every day, we always recommend that everyone has two working keys at home, and this is why:
A common problem with Jeep Commander keys is that over time they get worn out and stop turning your ignition, or they even break.
Usually before the key wears out or breaks, you will be able to actually see it on the key, or it will just start to become harder and harder to use on the ignition. Before your key stops working altogether, you can make a brand new third key, but only if you have two working keys:

First, you need to purchase a new Jeep Commander key. The key needs to be a transponder chip key and you can buy these keys online, at a Jeep dealership, or through a locksmith company.
Select the key that is in the best working condition from your two keys you already have. Copy your old key to the new key you have just purchased. You can have your new key copied at a locksmith store, Ace Hardware, or at a Jeep dealership.
After you have the new key copied, take all three keys, (both old keys, and your new key), to your Jeep.

First, insert one of your old working keys into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON position. In less than 15 seconds, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and remove the key.
Next, insert your second old working key into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON position. After about 10 seconds you will hear a “ding” sound and the theft security light will start to flash. In less that 5 seconds, turn the key to the OFF position and remove the key.
Then, insert the new key you have just copied into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON position. After about 10 seconds, you will hear the “ding” sound again and the security theft light will stop flashing. Turn the ignition switch OFF and then turn it back ON for another 3 seconds.
Lastly, turn the ignition back OFF and take the new key out. Now your new key has been programed.
You can repeat this process up to 8 times, for 8 new keys.

In a case that you have lost your truck key, how to get a replacement key for your Nissan Frontier truck and how much it will cost will all depend on the year of your truck. If your Nissan Frontier was made in the years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2006, then you just have a regular metal key, or what we like to call an old fashioned key. These keys are very easy to make and there are two places you can have these keys made in case you have lost the only key you had. The first place will be at a Nissan dealership. With the proof of ownership such as your drivers license and the truck title or truck registration, you can stop by the neighborhood dealership and ask them to make you a new key by the truck’s VIN number.
The second way, which is the more convenient and quicker way to get a replacement key for your Nissan Frontier, in case you do not have a spare key, is through an automotive locksmith. We recommend that you shop around for prices at different locksmith companies or at Nissan dealerships.

Any year of a Nissan Frontier truck can have a keyless entry remote. The keyless entry remote is separate from your truck key and will have push buttons to lock and unlock the doors. You can buy these remotes online or at a locksmith store or at a Nissan dealership. Most of the remotes will come with instructions on how to program it yourself and should only take a few minutes to do.

Program key for Ford Explorer

key replacement

Ford Explorer keys and locks, compared to many other vehicles, are easy to make repairs and install. If you have lost your Ford key and your Ford Explorer was made in the year 2003 and later, then a Ford dealership or a locksmith will be able to make you a new key by your SUV’s VIN number. Another great thing about a Ford Explorer is that you can make a duplicate key yourself. Mile High Locksmith ™ is an automotive locksmith company that are experts on Ford Explorer keys, locks, and ignition problems and how to fix them. Below, we would like to share some information with you about different problems you may have with your Ford Explorer, and how to fix it.

Program key for Ford Explorer
As a tip, we always recommend that people keep two working keys for their Ford Explorer especially from the years 1998 and up. We know that most people will use only one key to their car, and from our experience the key that is used the most will get worn out. What is great about a Ford Explorer is that you can program a duplicate key yourself without using a locksmith company or dealership, and will most likely save you money.
For security reasons, Ford asks you to keep two working keys to be able to program a third key yourself.

This is how to make a duplicate key yourself:
If you have two working keys and the key that you are using the most is getting worn out, you can take the key that is in a better condition and copy it. However, before you can copy this key, you will need to buy a transponder chip key blank. You can purchase these key blanks at a Ford dealership, at a locksmith company, online, or at Ace Hardware. Some of the online sites we recommend you check is ebay.com, amazon.com, ikeyless.com or keylessride.com. After you receive the key blank, take the your old key that is in the best condition and get it copied to the new key blank at either a locksmith store or a hardware store. We recommend Ace Hardware. When you get your new transponder key cut, this is how you program it to your Ford Explorer:

Insert your old working key to the ignition cylinder and turn the ignition cylinder to the ON position and then turn it right back to the OFF position and remove the key.
Within 5 seconds insert your second old working key to the ignition and turn it to the ON position and right back OFF, again remove the key.
Insert the new key within 5 seconds and turn it to the ON position and turn it right back OFF. The security theft light will light up for 3 seconds telling you that the new key has been programmed.
Ford Explorer key replacement
If you have lost your Ford Explorer key and have no spare, where you can get a new key made, and for how much, depends on the year of your SUV.

If your Ford Explorer was made in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, or 1997 then you have just a regular key. Most likely the only place you will be able to make a key is with a locksmith company. The reason is, is because the Ford dealership only keeps key information for ten years. A locksmith will have other tools to make you a key, such as Ford try out keys or they can just disassemble one of you car locks, such as your door locks, glove box lock, trunk lock, etc., to get the information.
If your Ford Explorer was made in the years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 or 2003, then most likely your Ford Explorer will require a transponder chip key. If you have lost the key and have no spare, you will have to use a locksmith company because of the same reasons explained above. This time, besides making the key, the locksmith will have to also program the key to your SUV’s immobilizer.

If your Ford Explorer was made in the years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016 then there are two places you can have your key made. The first place will be a Ford dealership and the second place will be a mobile locksmith. If you have lost the key and have no spare, a quicker way to have your key made is by using a mobile locksmith. The reason is, is because the mobile locksmith will come to you wherever you Ford Explorer is, when a Ford dealership will ask you to come to them.
If your Ford Explorer was made in the years between 2011 and 2013, you can have a key fob made to your SUV. The key fob is not a must, you can still have just a regular transponder chip key without a fob. The key fob is basically the same key as the transponder chip key. The only difference between the key fob and transponder chip key, is that the key fob will have push buttons on the key head to lock and unlock your Ford Explorer doors.

Ford Explorer keyless remote
Besides your key to your Ford Explorer, you can add a remote. If your Ford Explorer was made in the years 1993 to 2010 then you can program a keyless entry remote yourself. You can buy this remote at a Ford dealer, with a locksmith or online and it should come with instructions on how to program it yourself, and should only take a few minutes to do.

Ford Explorer key won’t turn in the ignition
Many times customers call and tell us they suddenly have problems turning the key in the ignition. We find that most customers will use this key in the ignition until it stops turning altogether or even get stuck. Unfortunately they contact us only after the key is stuck in the ignition and they are not able to start the vehicle anymore. If you have one of these problems, there is some information we would like to share with you on what can cause the problem and how to fix it.
There are a couple of reasons that can cause the problem. The first reason that we find is usually the problem is that your key has just gotten worn out. Making a key copy will not work to fix the problem. We recommend you contact a Ford dealership or locksmith and ask them to make you a new key either by VIN number or key code. The second problem is that one of the parts inside the ignition cylinder has gotten stuck. The fix we recommend for this problem is to call a locksmith and ask them to rekey your ignition.

Chevy Suburban replacement key

key replacement

How to program a Chevy Suburban key

Making a key copy for most Chevy Suburbans or making a replacement key, in case you have lost your key, is a very easy process to do. Most Chevy Suburbans require just a regular metal key, or what we like to call just an old fashioned key. This key, in all the Chevy Suburbans years should work on all the locks including, the door locks, glove box lock and ignition. If you just need to make a spare key to your SUV, all the Chevy Suburbans from the years 2005 and under, have keys that you can simply get copies made at a hardware store or a locksmith store. A hardware store we suggest to try is Ace Hardware.

If you have lost your key to your Chevy Suburban, and have no spare, the cost of making a replacement key depends on what year your Chevy Suburban is. If your SUV was made in the year 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005, then your Chevy will require just a simple key. These keys can be made by either a locksmith or a Chevy dealership. The Chevy dealership will have have limited access to information for your Chevy Suburban. The dealership will most likely only be able to make you a key for your SUV from the years 2003 and up. However, a locksmith will have different tools and access to more key information and will be able to make you a key from the year 1970 and up.

What is the difference between a Chevy dealership and a locksmith company? If your Chevy Suburban was made in the years 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. then your Chevy Suburban will require a transponder chip key. This key will need to be programmed to your car’s immobilizer. The differences from a locksmith company to a dealership, is that a dealership will ask you to bring in your SUV, when a mobile locksmith will come right to your Chevy’s location and make you a working key right there on spot.
How to program a Chevy Suburban key
If you lost your key to your Chevy Suburban and your SUV was made in 2006 or later, then your key will need to be programmed to your SUV. We recommend that you try to use a locksmith company or a Chevy dealership to make a replacement key and program it. However, you can also program the key yourself. Here are the two programming modes for your Chevy Suburban:

Master Key programming. (Use master key programming if you have lost your key and have no spare. Using the master key programming mode will cancel any old keys you may have).
Duplicate key. (Use this programming mode in the case you have a working key and you just want to add a copy).
Below, we will explain to you the two key programming options you have for your Chevy Suburban.
Making a master key. If you lost your Chevy key and have no spare and your Chevy Suburban was made in the year 2006 or later, another option is to purchase a transponder chip key online, at a Chevy dealership, or by a locksmith. Some of the places we recommend to purchase a key online is ebay.com, amazon.com, ikeyless.com and keylessride.com. After you receive your new blank transponder chip key, you will need to cut the key to your SUV. You can ask the Chevy dealership to cut it for you, or even a locksmith company. The most common way to get the key cut information is by the VIN number. After you have your new key cut, this is how you program it to your SUV:

Insert your new key into the ignition switch and turn it ON. All the lights on the dashboard should come on such as your gas light, battery light etc. Look for a light that will either say theft, security or just show a picture of a key. When the light come on, leave everything in the same position for 10 minutes.
When the 10 minutes pass, and the security light goes off, you have within 1 minute to turn the ignition off, and turn it back to the ON position. Look for the theft light to come back on. Leave everything in this position for another 10 minutes.
Repeat the same process one more time, for a total of 3 times.
When the light goes off after the third time, this means your key has been programmed. Keep in mind that any old keys you may have, will not work anymore.

How to program a duplicate key to your Chevy Suburban
What is great about Chevy Suburbans is that you can program duplicate keys yourself. All you really need is just one working key to your SUV. When you want to make a spare key, we recommend you use a Chevy dealership or a locksmith company. By going through one of the two will be the easiest and quickest way to do it. If you have some time or you just want to program the duplicate key yourself, this is how:

If your Chevy Suburban was made in 2006 or after, you will need to purchase a transponder chip key. You can purchase these keys through a Chevy dealership, a locksmith, or online. We recommend trying ebay.com, amazon.com, keylessride.com, or ikeyless.com.
After you get the new key blank, you can have it copied to your old key. We recommend you to try either a locksmith company or Ace Hardware.
When you have the new key ready to use, bring the new key and the old key to your Chevy Suburban.
Insert the old key into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON position. All the lights should light up, including a light that says theft, security, or shows a picture of a key. Turn it right back to the OFF position.
Remove the key and now within 15 seconds, insert your new key into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON position. Now the theft light will light up for two seconds and then turn off. When the light turns off, your new key is programmed to your SUV.

Chevy Suburban keyless remote
Chevy Suburbans between the years 1993 and 2013 can have a keyless entry remote. This remote is a separate part from the key and is used to lock and unlock the SUV. You can purchase these remotes online, at a Chevy dealership, or through a locksmith. This remote comes with instructions on how to program it yourself and should only take a few minutes to do.

Chevy Suburban key will not turn
A common problem that many cars and SUVs share is that the key will either not turn or is altogether stuck in the ignition. From our experience, many people tend to think that the problem must be with the ignition switch, however many times we find that the problem is the key itself because it is worn out. What we recommend you do, is first try to make a new key made by your SUV VIN number or key code. If this doesn’t work, the second fix we recommend is to call a locksmith company and ask him to rekey your ignition cylinder.

Crown Victoria key won’t turn

Ford key

Which key does your Ford Crown Victoria require? How to make a duplicate key yourself? What to do if your key won’t turn your door locks or ignition lock? Mile High Lock and Key is a locksmith company that is located in Denver, Colorado. We are a company that are experts when it comes to Crown Victorias, and anything that has to do with locks, keys, or ignition problems. If you have any of these problems, we can help. Below we have more information on Crown Victoria’s we would like to share with you.

Crown Victoria key won’t turn
If your key will not turn your door lock or ignition switch, it can be because of a couple of reasons. The first common reason that we always check first is that your key is just worn out and you need a new one. Even though sometimes it won’t look like the problem is the key, you should get a new key made. Copying your existing key will just copy the worn out key with the same problem and will not help you. What we recommend you do is get a new key made either by your car’s VIN number or by the key code. A locksmith or Ford dealership will do this for you.
The second common problem why your key won’t turn can be your ignition cylinder. It can be that one of the wafers, a part in your ignition, has gotten stuck. We recommend you to call a locksmith and ask them to rekey your ignition.

Crown Victoria keyless entry
Your Crown Victoria that was made between the years 1993 and 2011, can have a separate keyless entry remote that you can use to lock and unlock your car doors. You can purchase these remotes on many websites online or with a Ford dealership. You can also purchase these remotes through a locksmith company. These remotes should cost anywhere from $20 to $60. All of these remotes should come with instructions on how to program the remote yourself and should only take a few minutes.

Spare key for Crown Victoria
If your Crown Vic was made in the years 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, or 1997, then your Ford Crown Vic has just a simple, regular key, or what we like to call, an “old fashioned metal key.” If you are just looking to make a spare key, these keys are very easy to copy, and you can get yours copied in many hardware stores, such as Ace Hardware. You can even get this key copied at a locksmith store.
If your Crown Vic is in the years 1998 and up, then making a key copy will have to be programmed to the car and these keys can be copied either by a Ford dealership or a locksmith company.
Crown Victoria key replacement
If you have lost your key and have no spare, and your Crown Vic year is between 1983 and 1988, or between the years 1996 and 2011, then your car will need only one key to operate the door locks, glove box lock, trunk lock, and ignition. If your Crown Vic is between the years 1989 to 1995, then you will need two different keys. One key will work on the ignition and doors, and the other key will work on the trunk and glove box.
If you have lost the key to your Crown Vic and have no spare, where to make a replacement key and what the cost will be, all depends on the year of the car. Crown Vics have two different types of key.

If the car is between 1983 and 1997, then your Ford will just have a regular key and making a replacement key will be possible to do only with a locksmith company. The reason is, is because there is no other way to get the key information except by disassembling one or possibly two of the locks. Another way is maybe by using locksmith tools such as a key reader or try out keys.
If the car is between the years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, or 2004, then you will still need to have a locksmith company make you a new key. The difference in these years is that the key will need to be programmed to your car. The reason you need to use a locksmith is because they are the only ones who know how to get the key information for this car. They will either have to use special tools, or even disassemble one of the locks or maybe even two.
If your Crown Victoria was made in the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, or 2011, then there are two places where you can have a replacement key made. One will be by an automotive locksmith and the other will be by a Ford dealership. There are a couple of differences between these two places when having a replacement key made. The first is the cost. The locksmith and the dealership are using different methods to make a key and this will affect the price. We always recommend that you shop around between the two. The second difference is the type of service. The dealership will ask you to bring the car in, whereas a locksmith will come to your car’s location. In these years your key will need to be cut and programmed.
How to program a key copy for your Crown Victoria yourself

If your Crown Victoria is from the year 1998 and up, this means that your key will have to be programmed to you car. What is great about your Ford, is that you have the option to program an additional key yourself. For security reasons, Ford is asking you to have two keys that work to be able to add a third key to your car. Even though we know that most people use only one key to their car, we always recommend to have two working keys. This is why:

When you use your key over time, your key will get worn out or even to the point where it is ready to break. As long as you have two working keys, you can just simply purchase a transponder chip key blank online. Some of the websites we recommend are ebay.com, amazon.com, ikeyless.com and keylessride.com. After you purchase this key, you can take this new key and the working key that is in the best condition to a Ace Hardware store or a locksmith store and ask them to copy it. After you get the new key copied, this is how you program it to your Crown Victoria.

Insert one of your old working keys into your ignition switch and start the car.
Immediately turn it to the OFF position and remove the key.
Within 5 seconds, insert the second old working key into the ignition switch, again start the engine. Immediately turn it off and remove the key.
Now insert your new copied key within 10 seconds and turn the engine on. Turn it right back off.
Now you should see your security theft light come on for 3 seconds and turn off. This means your new key has been programmed.

Program Jeep Liberty key fob

Jeep key replacement

How to program Jeep Liberty key • Spare Jeep Liberty Key

Mile High Locksmith ™ is an automotive locksmith located in Denver, Colorado. Since the year 2002 we have been making keys for the Jeep Liberty, by cutting the keys and programming the keys as well as selling key blanks, such as key fobs, and keyless entry remotes. What we have found as the most common problem with Jeep Liberty’s is that people lose or break their keys. We also find that in many Jeep Liberty’s over the years, there is a common problem with the ignition switch. Some of the wafers, which is a part in the ignition switch, get stuck. This prevents the ignition switch from turning. If you experience any of these problems, call Mile High Lock and Key and we will send our mobile locksmith van to your location to help you fix the problem. We would also like to share some information with you below that may help you when trying to solve any problems you may come across with your Jeep Liberty.

Program Jeep Liberty key fob
There are three different ways to program a Jeep Liberty key fob. What is a key fob? A key fob is actually a key that is combined with the remote. It basically looks like a key with push buttons on the key head to unlock the doors, trunk, and has a panic button. Another key a Jeep Liberty will have is a transponder chip key. This is a key that needs to be programmed to your Jeep. The difference between the two will be the price and that the transponder key doesn’t have a remote. Below we will explain what your options are when it comes to programming these keys.

We do find that many people will use only one key to their Jeep. We recommend that you always have two working keys just because that if the key that you are using the most is wearing out but still working, you can take the other working key that is in better condition and copy it in a hardware store, for example Ace Hardware. You can find many places online to buy a new key blank for your Jeep Liberty. Some of the websites we recommend are amazon.com, ebay.com and ikeyless.com.

After you have made a copy of this key, this is what you can do:

(You can program your third key by using your two working keys and the the new key you have just copied.)

Insert one of the old working keys into the Jeep ignition switch and turn it to the ON position, but DO NOT start the engine. Make sure to leave the key in the ON position for longer than 5 seconds, but not more than 15 seconds. Then turn the ignition switch OFF.
Remove the key and insert your second old working key. Again turn the key to the ON position, but DO NOT start the engine. After around 10 seconds, the theft light should light up and you will hear a single sound like a ding sound or chime. Right after the sound, turn the key to the OFF position.
Now your Jeep Liberty is in programming mode. Within one minute or less you have to insert your newly copied key into the Jeep ignition, turn it to the ON position and after 10 seconds, you will will hear the sound again and the theft light will stop. Wait 5 seconds and turn the key to the OFF position.
Now you have programmed your new key to your Jeep Liberty and are done.

Replace lost Jeep Liberty key

If your Jeep Liberty was made in the years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016, and you have lost the key and you do not have a spare key, there are two places that can make you a new Jeep key. One is a Jeep dealership and the other is a locksmith company. There is two differences between the two. The first will be the price. We recommend you shop around for prices. The reason is because the Jeep dealership and the locksmith are using different tools and methods to make the key and this will affect the cost. The second difference is the type of service. A Jeep dealership will ask you to bring in your Liberty which could cost you towing fees, whereas an automotive locksmith will come to wherever your Jeep is located.

Jeep Liberty key stuck or won’t turn in the ignition
There may be times when your key gets stuck or won’t turn in the ignition of your Jeep Liberty. It is a common problem we have dealt with in the past. Many people find themselves having problems turning the key in the ignition to start the engine, but the key is only a little hard to turn so they don’t think it’s a big problem and they keep using the key. From our knowledge and experience if your key didn’t get stuck in your ignition yet, it will. Don’t worry, it has happened many times. There are two ways to fix the problem from our experience. First, we recommend to try to make a new key by key code or VIN number. Many times your key will get stuck in the ignition or will not turn in the ignition because it has just gotten worn out. Making a copy of the key will not fix the problem. Again, we recommend you make a new key by your Jeep Liberty VIN number or key code. The second reason your will not turn or the ignition will get stuck is because one of the wafers, which is a part inside your ignition cylinder, will get stuck. The best fix for that is to call a mobile locksmith.

Kia Sorento push button start

Kia key programming

If you have lost your Kia Sorento key and have no spare, then making a new key especially for most of the Kia Sorentos is a very easy process to do. We have been helping customers throughout the city of Denver for many years and have gained a lot of experience with all things connected to a Kia Sorento key, lock or ignition. Read below for some information we have shared about Kia Sorento keys.

Kia Sorento lost key

For most Kia Sorento years, the key is a very simple key and the same key should open all the locks and also start the engine. If you lost the key to your Kia Sorento and it is in the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, or 2008 then making a key is a very easy and quick process. When we send our technician to you, he will come with all the key blanks and key making machines to make you a brand new key, right there on spot. They will use one of two ways to make you your new key. The first way, which will be the fastest way, will be by using your Kia Sorento’s VIN number. This should take only about 20 minutes or less. The second way will be by disassembling either your door lock or trunk lock. This process can take up to 45 minutes.

If your Kia Sorento was made in the years 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 or 2016 then your Kia requires a dealer high security key, or what people also call a Smart key. These keys need to be cut by a laser machine and programmed to your car’s immobilizer as well. The Smart key blank itself will cost between $200 to $240 and most locksmiths will charge an additional $100 to $150 to cut and program these keys to your car.

Kia Sorento key won’t turn
It is a common problem that at some point, a Kia key you use over and over, will stop working. The reason it stops working is because it gets worn out because of being used so much. Making a copy of this key will not fix the problem. We recommend that you call an automotive locksmith to come and make you a new key either by a VIN number or by key code.
Kia Sorento key stuck in the ignition
Another common problem that many cars share including the Kia Sorento is that the key gets stuck in the ignition switch, or will not turn the ignition. Before you put the blame on the ignition switch, from our experience, even though it doesn’t look that way, the problem can be your key. You can read more information about your key not turning in the above paragraph. The second common reason that the key gets stuck in the ignition is because one of the wafers gets stuck. What we recommend you do is to call a mobile locksmith and ask them to re-key your ignition switch.

Kia Sorento key fob remotes
You can have a keyless entry remote for your Kia Sorento anywhere from the year 2003 to 2013. From 2009 and up, you can have two different remotes. The first one can be a key fob or a Smart key. These keys will already have the remote on the key head, and these keys are more expensive. They will have the key blade with them that will need to be cut and programmed by a professional. If your Sorento is in the years 2008 and older , then your only option is to get a keyless entry remote. These remotes can cost anywhere from $50 to $70. You can buy these remotes on many websites. Some that we recommend are amazon.com, ebay.com, ikeyless.com, and keylessride.com. After you get this remote, it will come with instructions on how to program it yourself and should only take you a few minutes to do.
